Almost There: London On Cusp of CS Triumph After 7-3 Win
As the London Tigers and Augusta Capitols battled through extra innings, it was a rookie who made the difference.

Young London third baseman Ryan Compton, 23 led the way with a strong hitting performance in the 12-inning marathon. Compton went 1-3 with a home run, 2 walks, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 4 runs and scored once during the 7-3 London win over the Capitols. The win gives the Tigers a 3-1 lead in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 12th. With two out, Compton hit a fastball from Tim Kondas for a grand slam home run. The Tigers, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"This place went bonkers at the end," Compton said.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ballpark of Oklahoma City in London.
