Division Series Game 1 Victory for Palos and Ft. Wayne
The Ft. Wayne Earthquakes started the Division Series in style, downing the visiting Haviland Thrashers at Earthquakes Stadium by a score of 6-2 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Earthquakes right-hander Javier Palos threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball.

Jose Valdez took Haviland hurler Jamie Stuhr deep in the bottom of the first. His 3-run home run put the Earthquakes on top, 3-0. In all, Valdez had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"We're obviously playing with a lot of confidence," said Ft. Wayne manager Du-sung Moon.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Earthquakes Stadium in Ft. Wayne.
