Allen, Dragons Take Dramatic Game 1 for 1-0 Series Lead
The Dallas Dragons started the Wildcard Game in dramatic fashion, stealing Game 1 from the Fountain Hills 23ers in a walk-off in the 11th inning. Dallas took the 4-3 win thanks in large part to a good day from starter Jonathan Allen. The right-hander threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball in the win, which gave the Dragons a 1-0 lead to start the best-of-3 series.

The decisive blow was delivered by Cameron Polen in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a solo home run off 22-year old left-handed pitcher Wade McGonigle to win the game for Dallas. The home crowd went nuts.

"Every team in baseball loses," 23ers manager Efren Nieman said. "We're in the playoffs and we still have the same guys that got us here. We'll bounce back."

The next game is set to be played for Saturday, September 28th , 2024 at Fountain Park in Fountain Hills.
