Savannah Wins Division Series
The Savannah Alpines have swept the Mt. Vernon Cyclones and are on to the League Championship Series. Savannah won 5-4 today at Alpines Stadium to clinch the Division Series.

"We're happy to have put the dagger in when we had the chance," said Savannah second baseman Jim Young, who was named MVP for the series. "It could have been a tough series to finish if we let them start winning."

Young won the award with a .444 batting average and a .450 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 6 runs.

The Savannah Alpines don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Sikeston Shamrocks - Santa Barbara Super Troopers series. Sikeston leads the series 2 games to 1. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes.
