Golden Gophers Heading to League Championship Series
|
While it wasn't a complete mismatch, the Little Rock Golden Gophers showed themselves to be the superior team in the Division Series, downing the Providence Hex 4-2.
"Nothing is ever easy in the ABA Class A- playoffs. Whether you're a favorite or an underdog, you can't take anyone lightly or you'll get burned," said Matt Dean, who was named series MVP after a standout offensive performance.
Little Rock won the final game by a 3-2 count at Little Rock Grounds to clinch its spot in the next round.
They will hope to once again rely on Dean there, as he hit .500 with 1 home runs, 5 RBI 3 runs scored during the series.
The Little Rock Golden Gophers will play against the Medford Desperados in the next round. Medford won their series against the Santa Ana Black Aces 4 games to 2. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes.
