Providence Breaks Through for First Win in Division Series; Now Trails 3-1
The Providence Hex have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Little Rock Golden Gophers, winning, 6-4, at Ballpark of Providence. Hex left fielder Rafael Miranda went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and 3 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The win cuts the deficit facing the Hex to 3-1 in the best-of-7 Division Series.

The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until Miranda delivered big-time for Providence, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Ronnie Downard. The game-changing hit put the Hex on top, 5-4.

"We're happy," Miranda told reporters after the win. "When you're in the playoffs, you've got to treat every game like it could be your last."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ballpark of Providence in Providence.
