A good performance from first baseman Mike Chaloux helped the Providence Hex defeat the Greensboro Naturals, 12-9. Chaloux went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Hex. Angel Garabito, now 1-0, was credited with the win in 1.2 innings of relief. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0. The loss drops Greensboro to 7-6.

Providence used a clutch hit from Justin Richardson to snatch the win. The second baseman belted a grand slam home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Hex ahead, 12-8. It was his only hit, but it was huge.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Chaloux. "And not try to do too much."
