In a low-scoring affair between the Santa Ana Black Aces and the Aurora Paints, pitcher Kichizo Shimada was the difference between victory and defeat. The Santa Ana right-hander earned kudos in the 1-0 Black Aces win. Chris Williams, now 2-0, was credited with the win in 2 innings of relief. The decisive blow was delivered by Frank Babb in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 19-year old right-handed pitcher Carlos Rios to win the game for Santa Ana. The home crowd went nuts.
