Barnes Helps Golden Gophers Run Win Streak to 12
Bobby Barnes was the difference-maker for the Little Rock Golden Gophers in what turned into a shootout with the Newport Unicorns. Barnes, who is tied for 2nd in the SL1 in runs scored with 19, went 4-for-5 in the 14-9 Golden Gophers win. Ben Winters earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 1.2 innings. His record is now 1-0. At 12-1, the 2025 Golden Gophers have been nearly flawless so far.

Little Rock used the clutch hitting of Dan McNamara to capture the win. The second baseman drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Golden Gophers the lead, 9-7. For the game, McNamara had 1 single and 1 double in 6 at-bats.
