The Providence Hex had to overcome a fine effort from Aurora pitcher Kieran Carlyle to win, 5-3, at Ballpark of Providence. Carlyle went 7 innings and allowed 5 runs. Providence pitcher John Savage got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Kieran Carlyle got the loss. With the win, Providence climbs to 6-1.
The Hex benefited from a costly error in the bottom of the fourth. With Steve Jarvis at bat and Providence leading 1-0, the Aurora miscue allowed Providence to plate 2 and take the lead, 3-0.
"We're in a little bit of a dry spell," said Aurora manager Orlando Salinas.
