Waco got a terrific performance from pitcher Daniel Chavez, but it wasn't enough to beat the Medford Desperados. Medford won the Warlocks Grounds contest, 7-2. Chavez threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. With their winning streak at 6, the Desperados have raced to a strong start this season.

The result might have been different, had it not been for 22-year old left fielder Ahmed Joiner. Joiner had a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Desperados ahead, 3-2. For the game, Joiner had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"Do what you're good at," said Medford manager Noah Alexander. "That's all I ask of the team."
