The Newport Unicorns topped the Greensboro Naturals, 6-2, in Sub League 1 action at Chanticleers Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Newport pitcher and Guerra, Dominican Republic, native Jesus Perez. Carlos Palmas earned the save for Newport, his 1st. Greensboro now has a record of 0-3.

Newport got a big at-bat from Ranlo, North Carolina native Jeff May, who in the bottom of the third hit a 2-run double. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Unicorns ahead, 3-0.

May told the media after that game that the mood in the clubhouse is "extremely positive" after a win like that.
