Mapleton Yards was the site for Northern Conference action featuring the Moncton Mounties and Whitby Bats.

Chris Malone led Whitby to a win over Moncton. The final score was 10-5. The shortstop had a huge performance. He whacked 2 extra-base hits, including 1 home run and 1 double. Whitby is now 38-7, 9½ games up in the Northern Conference West Division.

In the top of the second, Malone had a 2-run double for Whitby. It was his 4th double of the season and put the Bats on top, 2-0.

"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Malone told the Whitby News. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
