Lincoln third baseman Ismael Negrete was sensational. He was 3 for 3 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Borrego Springs beat the Princes, 6-3. Borrego Springs is now 26-16, Lincoln 20-22.

Had Travis Shaw not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Shaw hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Rams.

"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Shaw told the Borrego Springs Today. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
