Getting a good performance from center fielder Caleb Langenwalter, the Buffalo Bellflowers defeated the Whitby Bats, 5-3. Langenwalter went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Bellflowers. Buffalo reliever Mike Casillas picked up the win to move to 1-0. David Damian suffered the loss. The win hiked the Buffalo record to 28-12.

Langenwalter had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-0 splitter from David Damian, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Bellflowers a 4-3 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Langenwalter.

"This team has the heart of a lion," said Bellflowers manager Andy Perez.
