Bats Rally to Eke Out Win
The Whitby Bats did just enough to sneak past the Buffalo Bellflowers, 5-4, at Wegman's Field. Whitby pitcher Marty Matthews, in particular, had a standout performance. Whitby is third in the Northern Conference West Division with a record of 20-19.

Sam Neeley delivered a big hit for Whitby. The catcher drilled a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Bats ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.

"We took home the win," said Neeley. "What's not to like?"
