Cubs Handed 7-1 Loss by Saint Pierre and Miquelon
|
The Saint Pierre and Miquelon Pirates took Franklin pitcher Ruben Lopez's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Spinners Ballpark. The final score had Saint Pierre and Miquelon getting past the Cubs, 7-1. Lopez went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 4. With the win, the Pirates sit at 18-15.
Saint Pierre and Miquelon took the lead, 7-1, on Sam Paiva's 9th home run of the season. The grand slam home run came off Franklin pitcher Jorge Chavez in the bottom of the eighth.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Paiva. "And not try to do too much."
