Torpedoes Snatch Late-Game, 3-2 Win
Long Island beat Borrego Springs at Centerville Grounds, eking out a 3-2 win. The win was due in large part to shortstop Eric Nance. He was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. Sergio Tapia snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-2 on the season. Noriaki Ishida suffered the loss. Long Island now owns a record of 11-20.

Omar Carrillo delivered a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth to win it for the Torpedoes. For the game, Carrillo drove in one run.

After the game, Long Island manager Moises Gonzalez applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
