Bellflowers Come Up Short at Plymouth, 5-4
Buffalo got a terrific game from catcher Jerry Lupton. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Plymouth, 5-4. Lupton was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times. Jim Unknown went 7 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits. The left-hander struck out 6 and walked 3. With the win, he ups his record to 1-0 this season. The third-place Rockers improved to 14-15.

Max Benitez, who is tied for 4th in the NC in runs scored with 24, came through for Plymouth with a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh. The second baseman went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 1 run batted in.

"It all depends on which version of our team shows up," said Benitez. "When we put it all together, I think we're a great team."
