Graham Renner, who is tied for 7th in the NC in strikeouts with 33, was locked in. The right-hander led the Whitby Bats to a 2-1 win against the Moncton Mounties at Eláguila Stadia. The win lifts Whitby to a record of 15-13.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Whitby. That's when Danny Walker hit a run-scoring double off 20-year old right-handed pitcher Matt Schmidt to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Walker.
