The Franklin Cubs beat the Lincoln Princes, 6-3. Franklin pitcher and Caracas, Venezuela, native Mario San Martin led the way. San Martin picked up the win for Franklin, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 3-0. The win brings the Cubs to 6-21, an awful start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Grant Murphy? The Franklin shortstop had a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Cubs on top, 1-0. For the game, Murphy had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
