Patrick Hits 2 home runs in Suns Win
|
The performance of Joel Patrick proved critical in helping Moriarty beat Saint Pierre and Miquelon, 3-2. The Suns right fielder hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Marco Montes earned the win for Moriarty. He lasted 8 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 8. With the win, he raised his record to 1-0. Kevin Massey picked up the save, his 8th.
Moriarty grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Patrick hit a 2-run home run off Diego Bucio. His 13th home run of the season put the Suns out in front, 3-1.
"If we keep winning the close games," Patrick said, "we'll be in good shape at the end."
The triumph makes Moriarty 18-10, as the team begins another long trek toward the playoffs in 2022.
