Rockers Lose By a Run at Moriarty
|
The Moriarty Suns knocked off the Plymouth Rockers, 6-5, in Northern Conference action at Super Solarplex. Moriarty pitcher and Escondido, California, native Mike Beden had an outstanding performance. The winning pitcher was Beden, now 2-2. He tossed 5 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 5 and fanning 4. The save went to David Shetler, his 1st this season.
In the bottom of the seventh, Moriarty shortstop Andy Bennett had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Bennett stroked a 2-run single to right-center. It made the score 6-2, Moriarty. For the game, he went 1 for 3 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI.
"Nice win for us," said Beden. "Now we'll go after the next one."
The victory makes Moriarty 14-10, as the team seeks a return to the playoffs in 2022.
