The Lincoln Princes took it on the chin, losing, 10-0, to the Moncton Mounties. Eduardo Garcia, who is tied for 7th in the NC with a 0.75 WHIP, pitched a strong game for Moncton. Garcia, the winner, moves to 4-0. He threw 6 innings of 1-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 4 walks. John Sherline was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.
The Mounties got a big hit from catcher Victor Valenzuela. Facing Lincoln pitcher Jim Unknown in the bottom of the seventh, Valenzuela pounded a 3-run home run to right. His 2nd home run of the season put the Mounties ahead, 8-0.
"It's a mindset," said Garcia. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
The win puts Moncton at 12-12.
