For the home crowd, it was a thrilling walk-off win.

Franklin beat Long Island on the strength of starting pitcher Dan Herbert's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. Franklin is now 8-14.

Matt Boyce was the walk-off hero for Franklin. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Cubs pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

Boyce called the win "a team effort."
