|
Long Island beat Moncton on the strength of starting pitcher Daniel Williams's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 3-1. Williams got the win, improving to 2-2. He gave up 2 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. He allowed 1 run. Matt Bogucki earned the save, his 4th.
Long Island took a 2-1 lead on B.J. Stevens's 2nd double of the season. The 2-run double, which Stevens hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Moncton pitcher Sean Ryan visibly frustrated.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Williams.
Long Island is now 11-11.
