Torpedoes Get One-Run Win at Abingdon
|
The Long Island Torpedoes did just enough to sneak past the Abingdon Archers, 3-2, at Reagor Dykes Stadium. Long Island pitcher Miguel Perelsa, in particular, had a standout performance. Perelsa got the win, improving to 2-0. He gave up 1 hit and walked 0 over 5 innings. He allowed 1 run. Marvin Cook wrapped it up, recording his 1st save.
Chris Scott had a direct impact on the outcome. Scott contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning to put Long Island up, 1-0.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Eric Collier.
The Torpedoes with just their 7th win in 23 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.
