Chargers Get 4-1 Win Versus Buffalo
|
Cesar Pereira was instrumental in his team's 4-1 triumph over the Buffalo Bellflowers. The catcher went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Terra Linda Chargers. Terra Linda reliever John Savage picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Rodolfo Hernandez was saddled with the loss. Kevin McDonald got credit for the save for Terra Linda. It was his 1st of the year.
Pereira had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 1-1 sinker from Rodolfo Hernandez, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Chargers a 4-1 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Pereira.
"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Pereira.
The victory makes Terra Linda 13-7, as the team seeks a return to the playoffs in 2021.
