Both teams had their chances, but the Borrego Springs Rams eventually prevailed.

The Borrego Springs Rams topped the Lincoln Princes, 8-7, in Northern Conference action at Lincoln Grounds. The game was highlighted by the performance of Borrego Springs center fielder Cameron Kovatch. Borrego Springs reliever Chris Gibbons snagged the win, upping his record to 1-1. Jim Unknown shouldered the loss. Matt Wilken sewed up the save, his 3rd.

The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until Kovatch delivered big-time for Borrego Springs, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Jim Unknown. The game-changing hit put the Rams on top, 8-7.

"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Kovatch.

The loss has the Princes at 11-9.
