Langenwalter 3-for-4, Bellflowers Move to 15-4
|
A 5-RBI performance from Caleb Langenwalter, who is tied for 4th in the NC with a 1.370 OPS, helped the Buffalo Bellflowers beat the Long Island Torpedoes, 8-5. The winning pitcher was 18-year old right-handed pitcher Keith Carter. He tossed 81 pitches over 6.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 5 hits. With the win, Buffalo lifts its record to 15-4.
With Buffalo leading 2-0 in the bottom of the second, Langenwalter hit a sinker from Jesus Perez for a 3-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Bellflowers ahead, 5-0.
"Just trying to keep things simple and helping the team win any way I can," Langenwalter told a local reporter after the game.
