Bellflowers Use Late Rally to Win
|
The Buffalo Bellflowers topped the Borrego Springs Rams, 8-5, with second baseman Ramiro Pastor playing a big role. Pastor was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI for the Bellflowers in the win. Tony Cruz earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. Now 14-4, the 2025 Bellflowers have been sensational so far.
Buffalo used the timely hitting of Rob Lopez to capture the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Bellflowers on top, 8-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but he made it count.
Pastor expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
