Sanchez Stars as Chargers Top Torpedoes, 6-4
Behind a fine performance from Jose Sanchez, the Terra Linda Chargers knocked off the Long Island Torpedoes, 6-4. Sanchez hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Chargers. Pat Higginbotham got credit for the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2 innings. The Torpedoes, now 4-13, continue their sluggish start.

Sanchez had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a first pitch fastball from Marvin Cook, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Chargers a 6-4 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Sanchez.

"We've hit a rough patch right now," said Long Island skipper Victor Sepulveda.
