Chargers Squelch Torpedoes Offense in Shutout Win
|
Terra Linda starter Randy Fischer pitched well against the Long Island Torpedoes at Ballpark of Plantersville. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-0. The winner was Fischer. He threw 5.2 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Luis Torres. Pat Higginbotham closed the door for Terra Linda, picking up his 3rd save of the year.
Terra Linda took a 6-0 lead on Willie Rodriguez's 1st home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which Rodriguez hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Long Island pitcher Luis Torres visibly frustrated.
"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Rodriguez.
The win puts Terra Linda at 10-6.
