Princes Lose to Cubs in Walk-Off
The Franklin Cubs finished things off in style.

Despite a great performance by Lincoln right fielder Mike Mitchell, the Franklin Cubs defeated the Princes by the score of 6-5 at Franklin Park. Mitchell was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Franklin pitcher Rich Sargent earned the win, hiking his record to 2-0. Jim Unknown suffered the loss.

The decisive blow was delivered by Nate Odom in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run double off 18-year old right-handed pitcher Jim Unknown to win the game for Franklin. The home crowd went nuts.

"Walking a team off at the end -- there's no greater feeling," said Odom.

Now 2-8, the Princes have gotten off to a poor start.
