Long Island first baseman Ray Davis played a vital role in his team's 8-6 conquest of Borrego Springs. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for Long Island. The loss puts Borrego Springs at 4-5.

With Long Island leading 4-3 in the bottom of the second, Davis hit a splitter from Steve Albrecht for a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Torpedoes ahead, 7-3.

"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Davis told the Long Island News.
