Riding the 2-hit performance of the 18-year old shortstop Brian Beason, the Franklin Cubs defeated the Lincoln Princes, 7-2. Franklin reliever Ruben Lopez picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jim Unknown was saddled with the loss. Lincoln, with the loss, is 2-6.

Franklin got a big at-bat from Gallup, New Mexico native Rovilson Leyritana, who in the bottom of the fourth hit a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Cubs ahead, 5-1.

"We had a nice day," said Franklin skipper Kerry McElree.
