Cubs Lose Again, 7-0, to Archers
|
Franklin had no answer for Abingdon Archers hurler Bobby Gang, who overwhelmed Cubs hitters as the Archers coasted to victory, 7-0. Jim Unknown nailed down his 1st save. With the loss, Franklin falls to 2-7.
Abingdon relied on the hitting of Tony Gonzalez to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Archers on top, 2-0. For the game, Gonzalez had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Abingdon manager Eric Collier.
