Late Magic Gets Long Island 4-2 Win
|
The Long Island Torpedoes picked up a win at Centerville Grounds, knocking off the Moriarty Suns, 4-2. On the mound for Long Island was right-hander Geert Brown, who played a pivotal role in the win. Long Island reliever Marvin Cook was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Jose Cruceta took the loss. The win puts Long Island at 6-3.
Ben Pendergrass aided the Long Island cause with a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the right fielder went 1 for 3 with a home run.
Pendergrass called the triumph "a good team win."
