Lovell slugs 3 home runs, Leads Mounties to Win

The Moncton Mounties topped the Lincoln Princes by a score of 7-2. Leading the way was third baseman David Lovell. Lovell hit 3 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored three times for the Mounties. Moncton pitcher Manuel Esquivel got the win. He's now 1-0. Fernando Salas was tagged with the loss. Lincoln is 3-3 after the loss.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Mounties grabbed the lead when Victor Cutino rapped a two-out single. Moncton was trailing 2-1, when Cutino hit a 2-run single off Jim Unknown to put his team in front, 3-2.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Moncton manager Kevin Squillace. "Our pregame was pretty good."
