Torpedoes Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Cubs, 6-5
John Wallick did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Franklin Cubs from being beaten, 6-5, to the Long Island Torpedoes at Centerville Grounds. Wallick went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Raul Sauceda recorded the save for Long Island, his 1st of the season. At 4-2, the Torpedoes have played well so far.

Todd Stevens was 1 for 3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Long Island. The 19-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring walk off Jim Unknown. It was his 4th walk of the season.

"We found a way to get it done," Stevens said.
