The Buffalo Bellflowers faced a tough opponent in Whitby pitcher Branden Covington, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Eláguila Stadia by a final score of 5-0. Covington went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Whitby now is 3-4.

Pablo Patlan had a big solo home run for the Bellflowers in the top of the fourth inning. With Buffalo leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he got a cutter from 19-year old left-handed pitcher Branden Covington and swatted a home run to center. It was his 2nd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Bellflowers ahead, 2-0.

"We've got a great group of guys," Patlan said, "and we're having fun right now."
