Terra Linda took on Moriarty in front of a lively crowd.
Terra Linda turned a good performance from starting pitcher Rob Stech into a 6-1 triumph over the Moriarty Suns at Super Solarplex. Stech, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 2 walks.
Juan Conde came through with a big-time hit for Terra Linda. The designated hitter smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Conde.
The loss puts Moriarty at 1-1.
