Moncton took on Long Island in front of a lively crowd.

The Moncton Mounties thumped the Long Island Torpedoes, 9-2, at Centerville Grounds. Victor Cutino was a big reason his team got the win. Cutino was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2. Moncton reliever Moises Tellez picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Geert Brown was saddled with the loss.

Moncton took a 4-2 lead on Nick Herron's 2nd home run of the season. The solo home run came off Long Island pitcher Geert Brown in the top of the seventh.

Cutino told a Moncton Times reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.

Long Island is 3-1 after the defeat.
