Helms Leads Colonels to 5-3 Win Over Bellflowers
|
The Tiverton Colonels dealt the Buffalo Bellflowers a 5-3 loss at Wegman's Field. Glen Helms, who is rated as the 81st best prospect by BNN, was the star on offense. He slugged 3 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored three times. Jim Unknown, the winner, is now 1-0. He struck out 2 and walked 8 over 5.1 innings, while allowing 3 runs on 4 hits. The win puts Tiverton at 1-2.
In the first inning, Helms had a 2-run home run for Tiverton. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Colonels on top, 2-0.
