Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Providence Hex home opener. Ed Gonell started for the home team against Kevin Augustine for the Greensboro Naturals. The Hex were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 3-2, Greensboro. Ed Gonell, though, was impressive. Danny de Anda earned the save for Greensboro, his 1st.

David Pinzon had a direct impact on the outcome. Pinzon contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put Greensboro up, 3-2.
